Harmony Training is a group of people that train and compete together. We do a variety of sports with our dogs. Some of our members and trainers have a ton of experience and some are just starting out.
Lynette VandeVenter has been training and competing dogs since 1987, starting in 4-H with her first dog. She started training flyball as well and has been doing flyball ever since. She traveled with the Speedy Desperados and Hawkeye Hustlers as a box handler when young and eventually got her first competitive Border Collie in college. Lynette has owned and handled quite a few different flyball dogs since then and has had 2 dogs earn their HOBBES and has earned multiple Regional Regular and Multibreed Championships. Lynette started training and competing in herding and Obedience with her Border Collies in college. In herding, she trained multiple dogs through the Novice level and one through Open, but has not competed much at that level. In Obedience, Lynette has trained multiple dogs through Utility, but has only competed through the Open level. She started Rally when it came out and occasionally competes with her dogs and has earned 2 RAE titles and multiple other titles and National Invites on her dogs. Lynette started agility in Colorado with AKC agility, but couldn't show all of her dogs due to them not being AKC registered. She eventually switched to NADAC agility so all of her dogs could compete. She has finished 6 NATCHs with her dogs and has multiple other titles, National Invites, and breed rankings in agility. She started training in Dock Dog in 2013 and has multiple National Invites and Placements at Nationals with her dogs and also has some of the top ranked dogs in her breeds. She also became a NADD and UKC judge. She occasionally competes in disc, but mostly judges for the local trials. She has started training some trick dog with her dogs but has not gotten into the Champion or Performer level yet. She occasionally competes in disc, but mostly judges for the local trials. She currently competes in flyball, agility, disc, dock dog, obedience, rally, and trick dog. Lynette is a Veterinarian as well. Lynette owns Hasty and Roary.
Hello my name is Megan Cain. I have been training with dogs since I started at the local animal shelter back in 2008. My shelter experience was mainly obedience work with all different breeds of dogs. Since starting at the shelter I have worked with about 6 different trainers in different events with different styles of training. I adopted my first dog, a Border Collie named Duke, in 2013. He is the reason I met Harmony Training and started my journey in the dog sport world. We started out with obedience training with a few different trainers. He passed his Canine Good Citizen test. We train in trick even though I do not test him for titles. It is just a fun pastime we like to do. We also started agility and flyball training with Lynette back in 2013. We started competing in NADAC Agility in 2014 with Duke. I compete with Harmony Training and their dogs in Disc, Flyball, and Dock Diving. I don't love disc, but have some amazing dogs. I set a new record with Cal in Throw N Go even if it only lasted a couple months. I can't wait to start you and your dogs sport world experience! Even if it is just for fun, it is a great start to a brand new relationship with your dog! I am also a Certified Veterinary Technician. I own and train Bash, Cal, Aria, Lyric, Novel, and Treble.
Stuart VandeVenter started training and competing with dogs in 2002 when he started dating Lynette. He has competed in Flyball, agility, and herding. His English Setter, Jetta, is the top pointed English Setter in Flyball and one of the top pointed dogs overall. He eventually became a Flyball judge and was judging multiple tournaments a year before buying his Veterinary Clinic in Illinois, limiting his travel. He also trained and competed in Agility and Herding, but due to his hectic work schedule has had to limit his traveling. He now competes in Disc, Dock, and Flyball. Stuart is also a Veterinarian. Stuart owns Magic, Jamaica and Cabaret.

Tyler VandeVenter has been raised at dog shows and has started training and competing with his own dog as well. He has been competing in flyball and dock dog since he was old enough to walk. His biggest downfall being that his favorite Border Collie loves to pull him around by the tug and weighs more than he does. As he has grown they have grown into quite a team. He started competing in Disc Dog when he was 8 with multiple dogs and loves it. He has also managed a ton of Junior podiums for disc, but managed many overall podiums as a Junior.
