Harmony Training is a group of people that train and compete together. We do a variety of sports with our dogs. Some of our members and trainers have a ton of experience and some are just starting out.
Lynette VandeVenter has been training and competing dogs since 1987, starting in 4-H with her first dog. She started training flyball as well and has been doing flyball ever since. She traveled with the Speedy Desperados and Hawkeye Hustlers as a box handler when young and eventually got her first competitive Border Collie in college. Lynette has owned and handled quite a few different flyball dogs since then and has had 2 dogs earn their HOBBES and has earned multiple Regional Regular and Multibreed Championships. Lynette started training and competing in herding and Obedience with her Border Collies in college. In herding, she trained multiple dogs through the Novice level and one through Open, but has not competed much at that level. In Obedience, Lynette has trained multiple dogs through Utility, but has only competed through the Open level. She started Rally when it came out and occasionally competes with her dogs and has earned 2 RAE titles and multiple other titles and National Invites on her dogs. Lynette started agility in Colorado with AKC agility, but couldn't show all of her dogs due to them not being AKC registered. She eventually switched to NADAC agility so all of her dogs could compete. She has finished 6 NATCHs with her dogs and has multiple other titles, National Invites, and breed rankings in agility. She started training in Dock Dog in 2013 and has multiple National Invites and Placements at Nationals with her dogs and also has some of the top ranked dogs in her breeds. Hello my name is Megan Cain. I have been training with dogs since I started at the local animal shelter back in 2008. My shelter experience was mainly obedience work with all different breeds of dogs. Since starting at the shelter I have worked with about 6 different trainers in different events with different styles of training. I adopted my first dog, a Border Collie named Duke, in 2013. He is the reason I met Harmony Training and started my journey in the dog sport world. We started out with obedience training with a few different trainers. He passed his Canine Good Citizen test. We train in trick even though I do not test him for titles. It is just a fun pastime we like to do. We also started agility and flyball training with Lynette back in 2013. We started competing in NADAC Agility in 2014 with Duke. I compete with Harmony Training and their dogs in Flyball and Dock Diving. I started in start dog position for Flyball with Breeze. I love the speed and noise of a tournament and trying to beat the clock. Since my first tournament, I have competed with different breeds and in different settings. In 2017, I picked up my first Border Collie puppy named Sebastian, but we call him Bash for short. My hope is he will be my all around sport dog. He received his AKC Puppy Star title at the age of 6 months. He also has his Novice Trick Title. He is in the beginning stages of Dock Diving, Agility, and Flyball. My friend Renea is working him in Frisbee, which he loves! He is a fast learner and a fun dog to train! I can't wait to start you and your dogs sport world experience! Even if it is just for fun, it is a great start to a brand new relationship with your dog! I am also a Certified Veterinary Technician.

She has done some training in agility, obedience, and trick dog and has hit an occasional show for these. She now competes in flyball and Dock dog with her dogs. Tara owns Honor, Stormy, Pip, and Escape.
